Saint Porphyrios’ last prayer was Jesus’ hierarchical prayer. He kept repeating “so that they may all be one”. With this prayer, Saint Porphyrios let out his last breath of life on earth. He was a true imitator of Jesus Christ, 2000 years later.
“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one”
Today, more than ever, we need this unity, the unity of Jesus. This is especially true for us Orthodox Christians. I believe that on the last night that Saint Porphyrios called me in to bless me, he left me as a legacy the mission to serve unity in Christ.
“I in them and you in me — so that they may be brought to complete unity.”
